Merging Realities  2019 – Lethbridge College

The world’s first full-day VR/AR conference held completely in virtual reality is back for its second year. Join us for Merging Realities to engage with people from around the world, learn from industry professionals and explore the capabilities of VR/AR. This year we will explore education, training and collaboration using VR/AR technologies. Learn about the benefits of VR for information recall and understand how AR can increase student engagement.

Join us at 12:30 MDT to hear Tyler Forster of Collaborative Edge XR speak alongside Donna Eiby of the Future Work Skills Academy about how XR technology is bridging the gap between the future of learning and the future of work in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Lethbridge College and the VR/AR Association (VRARA) are pleased to welcome Centennial College as a partner this year. Attendees at the April 25 event will be able to participate at the Lethbridge College campus, the Centennial College campus or in virtual reality from around the world.

Get a hands-on look at the past, present and future of interior design as we showcase the work of Lethbridge College’s Interior Design Technology students. Drop in and enjoy appetizers, meet with students, instructors and industry professionals, and learn more about the limitless opportunities of VR.

Come stop by our booth to have your very own room created in front of your eyes, then take it with you on your phone to share it with others in augmented reality!

The evening will include a short program at 5:30 p.m. where the winners of the 2019 Ashcroft Design Challenge will be announced.

6th Annual McFamily Charity Gala & Auction

Family Centre and Lethbridge & Area McDonald’s Restaurants will be putting on a fun, interactive evening as they raise money to support families within our community.

Your support changes lives and gives hope to families. 80% of
the dollars raised at the Gala & Auction will go to Family Centre
and 20% to Ronald McDonald House, Southern Alberta located in Calgary. They look forward to welcoming 300 attendants of our Charity Gala & Auction an hope you will be one of them.

Collaborative Edge XR will be demoing an immersive experience in which
attendees can put on a virtual reality headset and explore Family Centre’s amazing
indoor playground for young kids of all developmental ages. This is done
in partnership with Atkinson Realty & Associates who sponsored the
volumetric image capture of the playground.

In the medium-term future, XR will become a necessary requirement for small business success.
